My journey as a doctor started at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in London (now part of Imperial College). I qualified in 1998 and after my house jobs I worked in Australia for a number of years mainly in the Emergency Department. During my time in Australia I was lucky enough to live and work in the outback for a number of months where my duties included flying to do clinics in the remotest corners of the bush, running the local impatient unit, and doing whatever else was required, including veterinary duties! This was a incredible experience for a young doctor.

From here I moved to Torbay for a fantastic 3 years of GP training at Torbay Hospital which included a GP registrar year at the wonderful Grosvenor Road Surgery in Paignton.

I followed this up with a year in Burma (Myanmar) working for Medecins sans Frontieres. The project involved travelling by boat to remote villages to run Malaria clinics. This was an incredible year of highs and lows in the context of the very difficult political climate at the time. Over the years my degree has also allowed me to work as an expedition doctor in Namibia and in the Republic of Ireland and has allowed me to work and gain experience in many different medical specialities and contexts.

Since my wanderlust years I have worked extensively in General Practice mainly in Bristol and Reading areas. Over the last six years I have combined working in General Practice with my interest in Travel medicine by spending half my time working in the travel insurance sector and looking after, and advising patients who live and work overseas.

Being back in the bay and working at Pembroke Road Surgery has allowed me to combine my two loves, General Practice and working back in Paignton and I'm thrilled to have been given the opportunity to have both. My interests include Women's health, ENT, Paediatrics and Travel medicine.

When I can, I love to spend time doing sporty things on land and water in the great outdoors. I have recently embarked on the best journey so far, motherhood.

I am very grateful for the warm welcome I have been given at Pembroke Road Surgery and I am very excited to be rejoining the staff and patients of Grosvenor Road surgery for this exciting new chapter.

All partners provide contraception, maternity care and domicillary visiting.
