Behind the scenes they are hard at work keeping the surgery running, issuing prescriptions, dealing with medical notes, organising the GP rota, typing letters, filing letters into patient records and arranging referrals.
Reception Team

A typical days workload consists of making appointments, maintaining medical notes, arranging visits, liaising with the district nurses, processing and communicating test results, dealing with enquiries from other health professionals, meeting and greeting our patients at the front desk and taking telephone calls.
When requesting an appointment the receptionist may ask you for a few details about your reason for calling. They have been trained to make these enquiries on behalf of the GPs so that we may help you in the most appropriate and efficient way.

We are a fully integrated team which means we provide care where the client wishes – either at home or in hospital. Currently we have a 7% home-birth rate.
We would like you to contact us as soon as you know you are pregnant, either telephone the office or leave a message. There is an answer phone available if we are out. Alternatively you can make an appointment to see the Midwife at your Doctor’s surgery.
We look forward to meeting you.
The midwives are usually in the office each morning between 9am – 9.30am for direct contact or 24 hour answerphone. Please do not leave urgent messages on this number.
GP net earnings
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working at the Pembroke Medical Group in the last financial year was £94,850 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 23 part time GPs and 2 Locums who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
