Support for Friends and Family Carers
Do you provide support to a partner, relative, friend or neighbour who couldn’t cope without your help? This could be due to old age, frailty, disability, a serious health condition, mental ill health or substance misuse. If the answer is YES, you are an Carer.
Many carers do not identify themselves as a carer. Instead, they see themselves as someone’s partner, relative or friend who is simply ‘doing their best’ to help someone.
There are many benefits of being identified as a carer, which include:
We offer:
• Free Health and Wellbeing Checks
• A free flu jab each year
• Someone to talk to
• Discounts, finance and benefits advice
• Free Hospital Parking*

Meet our Carer Support Worker:
Claire Horton attends Pembroke House Surgery on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9AM-5PM and Friday 9AM-4PM
If you would like to contact Claire, in the first instance it is advisable to contact the surgery reception, either by calling 01803 553558 or by popping in. If Claire is not available, leave a name and number at reception and she will call you as soon as possible. Alternatively, you could email enquiries.pembrokehouse@nhs.net or write into the surgery, making sure that the letter or email is marked FAO Claire Horton.
Why not come along to our Carer’s coffee afternoon, that runs on the first Wednesday of the month, 1-3pm at St Pauls Church Paignton, to meet and chat with other unpaid carers.
